Is there anything I can do about buying a fake golf club from China?

Bought a new TaylorMade driver from golfstock118.com and it has been confirmed counterfeit. No seriel number and the adjustable part of the club does not work. The company has offered 50 USD which is an absurd offer for a counterfeit club that does not work as described. It was purchased as a Fathers Day gift and has turned into a major headache. Any help would be appreciated!

Unfortunately there’s little you can do- these sites are your boiler-room type operations.

You could try contacting your credit card company (if you paid with a credit card) and tell them what happened and that the vendor is selling counterfeit merchandise) and try to dispute the charge.

It’s not TaylorMade’s fault; they’re very aggressive in pursuing these counterfeiters because as you can see- not only do they lose legitimate sales, but people buy the fakes thinking it’s a great deal, and then it doesn’t work as advertised and you, as a consumer, end up getting a bad impression all around.

Beyond that, buy from a legitimate vendor who is an authorised reseller. Best of luck.

You really have no recourse unless golfstock118.com is willing to give you a refund. I assume, though, that “the company” you are referring to is that website.

Taylor Made has no responsibility for this, as they aren’t the ones that make the clubs. Lesson learned, if it’s too good to be true, it probably is, so buy from authorized USA dealers.

If you paid with a credit card then try to pursue that although it’s unlikely you’ll get it resolved. Otherwise, take the $50 (assuming they actually give it to you) and consider it a lesson learned.

Always buy from authorized dealers. They will not have discounts (because they’re not allowed to discount) but you’ll get the real deal. Anyone who is offering discounts on new OEM equipment is selling fakes 99% of the time.

    Contect seller, return for refund.
If seller won’t agree then ask your bank to ask for money back.

ask the site refund your money. Because they know what they sell!
